The Office of Conservatorship Management prepared this guide to assist conservators in Tennessee with the important task of making decisions about managing the money of someone under conservatorship. Conservators have a statutory responsibility to make decisions in the best interest of the person with a disability. This guide will assist in that endeavor.
This Guide was adapted from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (the “CFPB’s”) Managing Someone Else’s Money guides. The CFPB regulates the offering and provision of consumer financial products and services under Federal consumer financial laws and educates and empowers consumers to make better informed financial decisions.
